FORMER Southend United boss Peter Taylor has been named as the new manager of Welling United.

The Rochford born Taylor spent 84 games in charge of Blues during the mid 1990s.

And the 68-year-old will now be looking to help keep Welling in National League South.

Welling are currently second from bottom in the standings, three points clear of Billericay Town.

Taylor, who is based in Benfleet, has taken charge of 782 games in English football and also managed the senior England team for one game in 2000.
