WESTCLIFF skipper Greg Bannister is targeting a full 80 minute performance when they host Henley this weekend.

Westcliff have been beaten in their first four games of the National Two South season.

And Bannister is keen to end the losing streak on Saturday.

“It’s been a tough start, probably made a little bit tougher by injuries and other things,” said Bannister.

“But we can’t use that as an excuse, we haven’t played for 80 minutes in any of our games and that’s what has cost us.”

As a result, Westcliff sit bottom of the table.

But Bannister is keen to look at the brighter sides of the performances.

“Of course we are taking the positives from each game, you have too,” said Bannister.

“We just need to try and put a performance together we can be proud of and hopefully we can do that this weekend.”

Henley are 12th in the table having triumphed once in two games.

And Bannister is expecting another tricky afternoon.

“They are one of the top teams in the league, so we can’t really focus on them,” said Bannister.

“We just have to try and be better week on week and see where that takes us.”
