HAMZAD Kargbo has extended his loan spell at Southend United for a further month.

The 19-year-old striker, who is with the Shrimpers from QPR, has made three substitute appearances so far this season.

And Blues boss Phil Brown is pleased the teenager will be remaining at Roots Hall.

"I’m absolutely delighted with his attitude," said Brown.

"He’s worked hard to try and improve his game, he’s getting first-team coaching experience on a daily basis, he’s getting first-team exposure, albeit in a lower division than QPR, but that will stand him in good stead for when he goes back to QPR.

"Hopefully he will understand that and QPR will see a difference when he does return but he’s definitely still that project in the making.

"He’s a project that we want to spend as much time on the training ground as we can and try to get him as much exposure in terms of his minutes."
