SOUTHEND United supporter groups are asking fellow fans whether or not they still have confidence in Ron Martin running the club.

The groups unified for a meeting at the Blue Boar, where the Shrimpers first formed back in 1906.

And a poll has now been uploaded onto the Shrimpers Trust website for fans to have their say.

Explaining the reasons for the poll, James Schooley from the Save our Southend group said: “We know it won’t have the power to force anything on its own but we feel it’s a symbolic way to unite the supporters groups and the wider fanbase.

“It gives unhappy fans an alternative to protesting to really behind.

“We hope it will show Ron Martin, who is delusional at best of times and still think he’s done a good job, that the vast majority believe his position is untenable and that our vision of the club’s future is one without him, whether Fossetts Farm gets approved or not.

“It’s time for the fanbase to take some action and we have to start somewhere so the aim is for this to be the mandate and foundation for future action that we will fit.”

The results of the poll, which can be found here, are expected later this week
