Interim manager Dan Brown oversaw Billericay Town’s first league victory of the season on Saturday, as the Blues ran out 2-1 victors away at Dulwich Hamlet.

Anderson Pinto and Kweku Lucan both worked themselves onto the scoresheet in the first half, despite Darren McQueen’s effort which cut Billericay’s lead in half in the 60th minute, the hosts were unable to force a comeback in front of their crowd of 3,334.

It was announced on Friday that Jody Brown will be Town’s new manager, he and his backroom team will take charge from Monday.

Elsewhere, Concord Rangers’ good run of form took a hit as they were defeated 5-2 by Havant and Waterlooville in Hampshire.

A Jamie Collins brace, complimented by strikes via Jake McCarthy and Tommy Wright compounded the Beach Boys to a 4-0 hammering in the first 45 minutes.

But Chris Search’s half-time team talk seemed to have inspired his side as they pulled two goals back in the second half, thanks to Temi Babalola and Ben Allen.

However, former Concord star Alex Wall stroked home a penalty for the hosts in injury time to make sure of a disappointing afternoon for Search’s men.

In the Isthmian Premier, Bowers and Pitsea fell to a 1-0 defeat at home against the table-topping Kingstonian.

Daniel Ajakayies was the man on target for the away side, a result which ended Bowers’ seven match unbeaten run and keeps them slumped in the relegation zone.

East Thurrock United, however, worked their way out of the drop zone as they beat Hornchurch 4-3 in an action filled afternoon at Rookery Hill.

Hornchurch opened the scoring mid-way into the first half through Joe Christou, but the Rocks levelled the game 10 minutes later as Southend United loanee Jon Benton impressively converted after a superb solo run.

However, Mark Stimson’s side were to go into the half-time interval ahead, Liam Nash scored five minutes before the break.

Alex Hernandez levelled the game once again for East Thurrock, but a Charlie Ruff goal saw Hornchurch take the lead for the third time in the fixture, in the 69th minute.

A late capitulation by the away side allowed for Ben Wyss to convert in the 87th minute followed by a last-gasp winner as Ryan Mallett scored his first goal for the club.

The victory saw Rocks move up to 17th in the league standings.

In FA Trophy action, Hullbridge Sports suffered their second successive 4-1 defeat, as Stephen Sullivan’s side were resoundingly beaten at home against Hanwell Town.

Elsewhere, Basildon United ensured their place in the next round as they brushed aside Colney Heath, winning 5-2 in Hertfordshire.

Also in the next round are Canvey Island, they edged their way past Ware, beating them 7-6 on penalties after a 2-2 draw.

To round up the weekend’s action, Great Wakering Rovers also made it through to the next stage of the FA Trophy, they were 2-1 victors away at Chichester City.
