SOUTHEND United's under 18 side have been drawn at home to Cambridge United in the FA Youth Cup First Round Proper.

Blues emerged through the qualifying competition by beating both Barking  and Aveley at Roots Hall, and their prize is another home clash, this time against EFL Youth Alliance South East Conference counterparts Cambridge.

The teams have already met twice at Boots & Laces this season, with the U’s running out 5-1 winners in the league in August before Danny Heath’s side exacted revenge by knocking Cambridge out of the EFL Youth Alliance Cup with a 2-0 victory last month.

There have been three previous meetings between the clubs in the FA Youth Cup, most recently in 2019 when Cambridge edged out the teenage Shrimpers 2-1 at Roots Hall at the First Round Proper stage.

The tie is scheduled to take place on or before Saturday 6th November 2021, with full details to be confirmed in due course.
