JASON Demetriou expects Southend United to name their new manager next week.
Demetriou was in charge of Saturday’s 4-1 win against Chertsey Town in the fourth qualifying round of the FA Cup.
But the 33-year-old does not expect to be in the dug-out for Saturday’s trip to Dagenham & Redbridge.
“I think they’re expecting to make an appointment early next week,” said Demetriou.
“The latest will be Thursday we’re being told.
“The boys won Monday off, but I’m happy to carry on until whenever the new manager comes in.”
