AFTER their historic FA Cup triumph at the weekend, Bowers and Pitsea are back in Isthmian Premier action tonight as they visit Merstham, reports Leon Imber.

Rob Small’s side beat National League opposition in Aldershot Town at the weekend, 40 league places separates the two sides but it was the seventh-tier outfit that reigned victorious.

But now the Bowers boss will be eager for his side to kick-start their league campaign, as they are currently slumped in 19th position.

Their opponents for tonight sit 15th and beat Haringey Borough 5-0 on Saturday.

Elsewhere in the division, East Thurrock United host Bishop’s Stortford.

The Rocks have fallen to two consecutive losses by three-goal margins as they place 18th in the Isthmian Premier table.

Their opponents have made a solid start to the 21/22 campaign, picking up 15 points from their first 10 games, earning themselves a spot in ninth position.

In the Isthmian North, Great Wakering Rovers make the trip to AFC Sudbury as they look to build on their first league win earned on Saturday.

Stephen Butterworth’s men rose from the foot of the table as they saw of Stephen Sullivan’s Hullbridge Sports 1-0.

However, Sudbury will be stern opposition, having seen off National League South outfit Dartford in the FA Cup three days ago.
