SPENCER Prior feels Kevin Maher is the right man to take charge of Southend United.
Maher remains favourite to be named head coach at Roots Hall.
And Prior, who played alongside Maher during his second spell with Blues, believes the former Shrimpers midfielder would be the right appointment.
“Absolutely no doubt Kev is the right man for Southend.” Prior tweeted.
“He’ll come in with refreshing ideas and biggest of all, no fear.
“Seen many old school managers with negative scars pass their mindset onto players and infecting the dressing room.
“Exciting times ahead.”
