JODY Brown suffered his first defeat as Billericay Town boss on Saturday as his side fell to a 1-0 defeat at home against Tonbridge Angels in the National League South.

Ricky Modeste scored the only goal of the game in the 26th minute against his former side Town could not find a response.

Billericay now sit 19th in the standings, just two points above bottom side Hemel Hempstead Town.

Meanwhile, Concord Rangers also plummeted to defeat as Hungerford Town ran out 4-1 victors at the Aspect Arena.

Ryan Seager and Solomon Wanjau-Smith both bagged braces to sink Chris Search’s men, despite Aron Pollock’s 35th minute strike to try and get back into the game.

The result saw the Beach Boys slide out of the play-off pack, as they now sit eighth.

In the Isthmian Premier, East Thurrock United received a thumping as they crashed to an astonishing 8-0 defeat at home against Enfield Town.

The Rocks were 7-0 down by half-time in a horror afternoon at Rookery Hill.

Muhammadu Faal and Lyle Della Verde both grabbed hat-tricks, whilst Adam Cunnington and Nathan Smith were also on target.

The result sent Enfield top of the standings, whilst the Rocks have sunk to 20th and into the relegation zone.

Also in the seventh tier, Bowers and Pitsea and Bognor Regis played out a 0-0 stalemate at the Len Salmon Stadium.

In the Isthmian North, Canvey Island continued their stay at the top of the table with a 5-1 victory over Bury Town.

Evans Kouassi was at the double, while Conor Hubble, Elliott Ronto and Matthew Price all found the back of the net in the Gulls’ first match since manager Mark Bentley’s departure.

Elsewhere, Hashtag United also gained a valuable three points away at Tilbury.

Hullbridge Sports picked up their first point under the guise of Stephen Sullivan as they drew 2-2 at home to Romford.

Basildon United and Great Wakering Rovers, however, both tasted defeat as they slumped to 3-2 and 2-1 losses against Brentwood Town and Stowmarket Town respectively.
