AN all Essex tie in the Isthmian North this evening sees the table-topping Canvey Island make the short trip to Basildon United.

The Gulls’ impressive form this season has continued despite the departure of manager Mark Bentley, and under new boss Brad Wellmen.

And he will be looking to lead his side to their 12th straight victory this evening as they face a Basildon side who themselves are adapting to a new regime, under the guise of Jonny Fowell.

The Bees currently sit 17th in the standings, however just three points separate themselves and Tilbury, who are placed 11th.

Their opponents tonight have a three point cushion and two games in hand on Dereham Town, who are chasing just a place behind them.

Canvey have scored 21 goals in their last five matches; they haven’t conceded in their last four outings.

Elsewhere this evening, Bowers and Pitsea head to Potters Bar Town.

Rob Small’s side have dramatically claimed victory late on in their last two matches, lifting them from the relegation zone and into 17th.

Tonight’s opponents sit three places and three points above Bowers.

Former Southend United striker Kazaiah Sterling is now within the Potters Bar ranks, and could face Bowers this evening.
