SOUTHEND United head coach Kevin Maher is frustrated the Shrimpers will have to wait so long to build on their win at Altrincham.

Blues triumphed 2-1 at Moss Lane on Saturday but are now not back in action until they host Maidenhead at Roots Hall on Tuesday December 7.

And Maher would much prefer a quicker return to action.

“It’s a but frustrating because when you win a game you can’t wait for the next one but we have to get on with it,” said Maher.

“It gives us time on the training ground and we’ll be ready for Tuesday week now.”

Blues had been due to host Yeovil Town in the National League this weekend but the match has been postponed due to the Glovers’ involvement in the FA Cup.
