CHRIS Dudman was left with a familiar feeling of frustration following Rochford Hundred’s 22-17 defeat at Hinckley.

Rochford have now suffered five National Two South defeats in succession.

And Dudman was disappointed to be beaten once again.

“The Hinckley game was another one that fell into the same pattern of our recent performances,” said Dudman.

“We have been competitive in nearly every game this season and this one was no different, however we seem to be letting ourselves down with ill- discipline during crucial parts in the game.

“I can’t fault the boys’ effort and for periods of the game we were certainly the dominant team.

“We put together some great phases both in attack and defence.

“We just need to work on a few aspects of our game and we will improve very quickly.”

Hinckley saw off Rochford on Saturday despite being reduced to 14 men.

Adam Johnson was red carded for the hosts when they were 7-3 in front and Dudman was frustrated Rochford could not take advantage.

“Not taking advantage of the red card was frustrating,” said Dudman.

“We did well to finish the first half strongly with a try just before half time and we were confident going into the second half.

“But Hinckley played the conditions well in the second half and made us pay for our mistakes.”

Rochford are now third from bottom in the table and face a tough looking test against league leaders Redruth at Magnolia Road this weekend.

“We will carry on working hard in training to try and work on our weaknesses which we have already identified,” said Dudman.

“A big positive to take from our games so far is the resilience the team is showing.

“Our work rate can’t be questioned and the boys are fronting up in every game.

“Redruth will be no different next weekend and we will look forward to having another opportunity at getting stuck into them.”

Matt Needham and Damien Brambley both bagged tries for Rochford at the weekend while the rest of the points came from the boot of George Elliott.
