TOM Clifford and Abu Ogogo could again be missing when Southend United host Maidenhead on Tuesday night.

Left-back Clifford has yet to feature so far this season due to an ankle problem while midfielder Ogogo has missed the last two games after suffering a dead leg.

And Blues boss Kevin Maher will be taking a late check on both players before finalising his squad.

“Tom Clifford is getting through some minutes in training and Abs has just starting training again,” said Maher.

“It’s possibly too early for them right now but we will see how they are in training.”

Centre-back Josh Coulson, who has not played since early October due to an ankle injury, remains sidelined along with winger Jack Bridge who has undergone knee surgery.

But Coulson is starting to step up his comeback.

"Josh has been out on the grass running," said Maher.

"He’s going through the right procedures but he hasn’t joined in any ball work yet.

"It’s good to see him out there and he’s a good character to have around the place.
