SOUTHEND United boss Kevin Maher has hinted Charlie Sayers is close to joining Tottenham Hotspur.
Echosport understands the Shrimpers left-back is set to join the Premier League side on a permanent basis after a spell on trial.
And, when asked about Sayers was set to depart, Maher said: “There might be some news on that moving forward.”
Sayers came through the youth ranks at Roots Hall and has made six first team appearances for the Shrimpers.
