SOUTHEND United are waiting to discover the full extent of James Dunne’s ankle injury.
Dunne had to be taken off at half-time of Sunday’s 1-1 draw at Bromley.
But Blues boss Kevin Maher must wait for the swelling to reduce before finding out when the midfielder will be back in action.
“He’s been put in a boot straight away and we will have to wait for the swelling to come down before we know how bad it is,” said Maher.
“We’re going to have to wait and see on that one but it was up like a balloon after the game at Bromley and didn’t look good.”
Dunne has made 17 appearances for the Shrimpers this season.
