SOUTHEND United are no longer in a transfer embargo.

The Shrimpers had been unable to add to their squad due to money owed to HMRC.

But Blues boss Kevin Maher is now free to finally add to his squad.

A club statement said: “Late yesterday evening the National League confirmed that they had lifted the embargo.

“We will now take steps to strengthen our playing squad.”

The Shrimpers are now expected to formally complete the signing of defender Ollie Kensdale from Concord Rangers.
