Set for talks - Southend United midfielders Will Atkinson and Lewis Gard
SOUTHEND United midfielders Will Atkinson and Lewis Gard will soon be in talks about their futures with the Shrimpers.
The duo will both be out of contract later this month.
And Blues boss Kevin Maher will be holding discussions with both players.
“There’s a break in their contracts towards the end of the month,” said Maher.
“We will definitely be speaking to them.”
Gard, 22, has featured in Blues’ last four matches after recovering from his second serious knee injury while at the club.
Atkinson returned to Roots Hall for a second spell in August and the 33-year-old has made 12 appearances so far this season.
