SOUTHEND United’s under 23 side suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat at Ipswich Town yesterday.
But Blues coach Danny Heath felt his produced a pleasing performance.
“It was a good performance from the lads,” said Heath.
“Ipswich scored from their one really good opportunity in the second half, a strike from point blank range.
“We created loads of opportunities and the Ipswich goalkeeper needed to make four very good saves to deny us.”
