NATIONAL League South strugglers Billericay Town are offered the opportunity to move out of the relegation zone on Saturday if victorious, however they face stiff opposition as fourth placed Oxford City stand in their way.

Jody Brown’s side are now within a point of safety; Braintree Town sit precariously above them but after Saturday will have three games in hand on the Blues.

And after three consecutive draws, including impressive performances against the league’s top two, Maidstone United and Ebbsfleet United, Brown’s outfit will be confident that they can spring a suprise result in Oxfordshire this weekend.

Town go into the weekend’s fixture having lost just once in their last five league outings, buoyed by a 3-1 victory over Canvey Island in the Essex Senior Cup in the week.

In the Isthmian Premier, Bowers & Pitsea will be eager to bounce back from their poor run as they host Carshalton Athletic.

Bowers have suffered defeat five times in their last six matches, their only victory in that time against bottom side Leatherhead.

Their opponents this weekend sit in a comfortable 10th position, and are knocking on the door of the play-off picture, just five points from the top five.

But Rob Small’s side’s eyes, for now, are firmly on beating the drop, and victory this weekend could put them six points clear of the danger zone.

Meanwhile, Hullbridge Sports face a tough test in the Isthmian North, as they go toe-to-toe with Canvey Island at Lower Road.

The high-flying Gulls sit just one point from the table-topping Aveley, while Hullbridge are slumped in the relegation zone in 19th place, six points from safety.

Basildon United host fourth placed Dereham Town, while Hashtag United could regain their play-off spot as they make the trip to visit Felixstowe and Walton United.

Elsewhere in the eighth tier, Great Wakering Rovers make the short trip to Brentwood Town, looking to bounce back from Tuesday night’s 2-1 defeat.
