SOUTHEND United boss Kevin Maher was pleased with all three of his debutants against King’s Lynn.
Right-back Leon Davies and striker Harry Cardwell started the National League clash while midfielder Noor Husin played the final 12 minutes of the 2-1 win at Roots Hall.
And Maher was happy with how the new additions performed.
“Leon came in for JD who has done ever so well and I thought he did well too,” said Maher.
“He’s got good delivery but it’s a difficult game when you’re trying to break a team down.
“Cardwell is a proper centre-forward and he does a bit of everything. “He was winning his headers in the first half but it wouldn’t quite fall for him in the box.
“But his work set up the penalty, it was and him Noor to be fair, to slide Dalbs (Sam Dalby) in so he contributed massively to the game.”
And Maher was also impressed by Husin’s work when in possession.
“Noor showed his quality on the ball when he came on and his composure as well,” said Maher.
“You can see the quality he’s going to bring.”
