Injured - on loan Southend United striker Matt Dennis
SOUTHEND United boss Kevin Maher remains hopeful Matt Dennis will be back for Saturday’s trip to Dover Athletic.
The on loan Norwich City youngster missed Tuesday night’s 1-1 draw at Aldershot Town with a hamstring problem.
But Maher has yet to rule the in-form forward out of this weekend’s clash.
“Matt has a slight hamstring problem and given how explosive he is as a player he’s going to get one or two twinges like that,” said Maher.
“Hopefully he will be OK but we have training today and tomorrow and we’ll assess him after that.
“He’s been in good form and there’s competition for places.”
Dennis has scored four goals in his last six games.
