KING’S Lynn Town have been hit by three FA charges following their clash at Southend United last month.
The first charge focuses on the surrounding of a match official after the Shrimpers were awarded a controversial late penalty.
Town boss Tommy Widdrington also been charged for his behaviour but all of the charges have been denied by the club who have requested personal hearings.
A post on the FA website confirmed: “Breach of FA Rule E.20.1 - It is alleged that in or around the 91st minute of the fixture, King’s Lynn Town FC failed to ensure that its players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion.
A second post then confirmed Widdrington’s charges: "Two breaches of FA Rule E3.1: 1. It is alleged that, in or around the 91st minute of the fixture, the Participant’s language towards a Match Official was abusive, and/or insulting, and/or improper.
2. It is alleged that, in or around the 91st minute of the fixture, the Participant’s towards a Match Official was improper and/or violent.”
Blues won the National League clash 2-1 at Roots Hall with Sam Dalby firing home an injury time penalty.
