Staying put - Lewis Gard has signed a new deal at Southend United
LEWIS Gard has signed a new deal at Southend United, keeping him at the club until the end of the season.
Gard has made 15 first team apperances since working his way through the ranks at Roots Hall.
And Blues boss Kevin Maher is pleased Gard is staying with the Shrimpers
"All Lewis wants to do is play football and that’s important," said Maher.
"He’s had a rough time in terms of injuries and has shown real desire to get back.
"When he’s come in he’s done well and I’m pleased for him.
"He’s a great character around the place and I’m delighted he will be here for the rest of the season."
