SOUTHEND Saxons will continue their push for a top three finish when they host Amersham & Chiltern on Saturday.
Saxons are currently sixth in the London One North standings, two places higher than their visitors.
But Southend’s Tom Reeman is expecting another tight contest at Warners Bridge.
“Amersham are always tough and niggly,” said Reeman.
“Anytime we’ve played away there it’s always a few points that separate us.
“We know it will be tough but we’re confident we can grind them down.”
Southend go into the game having won five of their last six games.
And Reeman is happy with the consistency on show.
“I’m really pleased with the last few weeks,” said Reeman.
“Obviously the Buzzard result was very disappointing but credit to the boys we parked that and got back on track straight away.”
As a result, Saxons are now five points behind third placed Harpenden and Reeman is keen to keep on closing the gap.
“Our hopes are to stay unbeaten in the run in,” said Reeman.
“If we can do that then we should finish top three. There’s an expectation within the group and we know we are capable.”
