WELLING United have confirmed the departure of Peter Taylor.

The former Southend United boss had been in charge of the National League South strugglers since the end of September.

But Welling have now opted to make a change in their ongoing bid to beat the drop.

A club statement confirmed: “We are sorry to announce the departure of manager Peter Taylor.

“The club is, however, grateful to Peter for all his hard work with a youthful squad since taking up the role in September 2021.

“A new manager will be appointed in the next 24 hours in preparation for our away fixture in the Vanarama National League South on Tuesday against Hampton and Richmond Borough.”

Welling are currently second from bottom in the table, four points clear of Billericay Town.
