OLLY Miles scored his second goal in as many matches as East Thurrock United earned a crucial 1-0 victory over Potters Bar Town in Isthmian Premier action on Tuesday.

The Rocks are now just two points from safety and have recorded back-to-back wins for the first time this season.

Miles scored his fifth goal of the season 19 minutes into the match, and Marc Harrison and Liam Wallace’s side held on to secure an important three points, as they closed the gap to safety with their game in hand.

The Rocks have picked up nine points from their last 15 on offer.

Elsewhere, in the Isthmian North, Hullbridge Sports suffered a 1-0 defeat against fifth-placed Grays Athletic.

Bridge remain four points from the drop zone, with just five games of the season left to play.
