SOUTHEND Saxons were brushed aside by Brentwood in the Essex Cup final at Warners Bridge.
Brentwood bagged a deserved 22-10 victory.
And Saxons co-captain Matt Wagstaff was a frustrated figure at the final whistle.
"The game was a huge frustration and the result speaks for itself," said Wagstaff.
"However the fact we didn’t play to our best makes the result worse.
"Parts of our game were good, but we never imposed ourselves onto Brentwood.
"But fair play to them, they turned up and had great desire to win."
Southend complete their London One North season with a trip to Colchester this weekend.
