BILLERICAY Town remain bottom of the National League South table despite beating Eastbourne Borough 2-1 at Priory Lane on Saturday.

Town still sit two points from safety after relegation rivals Welling United defeated Hungerford Town 2-1.

Currently led by Dan Brown, Billericay took a two-goal lead within the first 17 minutes against the promotion chasing Borough with Anthony Jeffrey and Dylan Gavin on target.

The hosts did reduce the deficit 11 minutes before half time but the score remained to keep Billericay within touching distance of sixth tier safety.

Elsewhere, Concord Rangers fell to a 2-1 defeat against fifth-placed Oxford City at the Aspect Arena.

The Beach Boys found themselves 2-0 down at half time as Joe Iaciofano and Josh Ashby converted.

And, despite Temi Babalola’s strike 10 minutes after the interval, Chris Search’s side couldn’t forge a comeback against their high-flying opponents.

Rangers have lost three of their last four matches.
