ELVIS Bwomono has joined Icelandic side ÍBV.
The 23-year-old right-back spent a whole season on the sidelines after opting not to sign a new contract at Southend United.
But Bwomono will now be able to resume his career following the move which sees him reunited with former Blues assistant manager Hermann Hreiðarsson.
Bwomono came through the youth ranks at Roots Hall and made 133 first team appearances.
However, Bwomono’s decision to move abroad means Blues will not be entitled to compensation.
Bwomono has not played since May 2021 when the Shrimpers drew 1-1 with Newport County at Roots Hall.
