SOUTHEND United fans have their say on Sunday's 1-1 draw with Torquay United at Roots Hall.
Certainly not the tame game we all expected.Took the game to Torquay and could have pinched it, Neal again outstanding as was Arnold. Powell strong but must learn to look up for an unmarked player in the box instead of just hit and hope on goal. Optimistic about next season now.
@YeattsMatthew
Torquay certainly edged the first half. Definite ref for JD & we actually played better with 10 men! Draw about the right result. Hopefully will push on for promotion next season.
@Manleyst
Ironically the two most experienced players were the ones who nearly cost us the game, but a bit of redemption for Dunne. Massive clear out is due - in the Three Amigos we trust!
@SimonGDodd
Blues were stronger once down to 10. I think the extra space in midfield allowed us to play a bit. Pleased to see Lopata after the game. Much strengthening will be required prior to pre-season training. Would like to see Gubbins and Neal stay, plus Lopata if any of them could.

Mostly outplayed in the first half when we were very poor. Red card to JD correct in second half but strangely we played better with 10 men and deserved to equalise. Big change of squad needed now to give us any serious hope of promotion next season though.

Fair result in the end after a correct decision on the red card. Good performances in particular from Neal, Powell, and MOTM Gubbins. Great sign off for John White. We return next season, better, fresher and stronger, ready to challenge at the right end. Welcome back Kacper!

Can I just say how heartwarming it was to see a proper round of mutual appreciation between players/staff and fans post-match today. It was a brilliant change of atmosphere from a horrendous couple of years at SUFC. Amazing turnaround from Kev and his team, they've done us proud.

Hopefully JD’s last game. Really put in some effort after the red card, numerical inferiority wasn’t noticed. Nice hold up play by Dalby, Powell was busy as always and Arnold was reliable and could do little for the goal. Big summer ahead with plenty of changes needed.

Was a good intense game. Demetriou shouldn’t have had a red card. We should have scored two but I'm happy with a draw.

Mid-table mediocrity perfectly exhibited in a game of football, but at least we didn't go down again!
