CAVAGHN Miley has signed a two year contract at Southend United.

The 27-year-old midfielder comes to the club after leaving Eastleigh where he had been since 2017.

And Blues boss Kevin Maher’s feels Miley’s understanding of the National League will prove to be invaluable in the months ahead.

“He’s at a good age and has played 200 games at this level,” said Maher.

"He’ll always put his foot in and work hard and we believe he’ll be a fantastic fit for us.

"He’s tidy on the ball, very competitive and strong, left footed as well like Dan (Mooney) so he gives us the balance.

“The age he’s at, he’s in his prime which is huge so it’s a signing we’re delighted to have on board."

Miley’s deal includes the option of a further year in the club’s favour.
