‘A Game for Barks’ is taking place at Southend United’s Roots Hall ground on Saturday.

The match is being played in memory of former Shrimpers skipper Chris Barker with all money raised being donated to South East and Central Essex Mind.

KICK OFF: The match kicks off at 3pm with the turnstiles opening at 2pm.

STADIUM: Fans will be able to access the stadium from 2pm onwards. All fans will be situated in the East Stand.

SPONSORS: DataMigrator, Emersons, Essex Property Centre, Tap Tap Move Ltd, Holiday Inn, Changing Room Essentials, Solopress and WTS Media.

TANNOY: BBC Essex presenter Victoria Polley will be reading out the teams. 

TICKETS: Tickets will be available on the day of the game. They will be on sale by the club shop and in the top left hand corner of the main car park. Tickets are priced at £5 adults and £1 for under 16s. Every penny from ticket sales will be donated to SECE Mind.

WARM UP: Run Free will be playing a seven-a-side match in the warm up. The group is for anyone who struggles with mental health issues. 

PROGRAMMES: Programmes will be on sale at the stadium for £2. Any remaining programmes can be purchased online by emailing chris.phillips@newsquest.co.uk

CAR PARKING: A section of the car park will be reserved for players and sponsors. The rest of the car will be allocated on a first come first serves basis. There will be no charge for using the car park.

SOUTHEND PLAYERS: (subject to change) Cameron Belford, Glenn Morris, Peter Gilbert, Johnny Herd, Sean Clohessy, Christian Dailly, Bilel Mohsni, Lee Sawyer, Anthony Straker, Barry Corr, Liam Dickinson, Duncan Jupp, Gavin Tomlin, Lyle Della Verde, Kyle Asante, Renei Batlokwa, Michael Timlin, Marlon Agyakwa and Anthony Grant will all be playing for the Southend side. Rhys Evans will be manager. Ryan Cresswell, Mark Phillips and Graham Coughlan will also be in attendance.

OPPOSITION PLAYERS: (subject to change)Mark Cousins, Anthony Wordsworth, Craig Stanley, Kevin Betsy, Simon Walton, John White, Gethin Jones, Carl Fletcher, Richie Barker, Charlie Barker, Vaughn Covil, Sam Hendy, Dan Jones, Danny Ogunleye and Isiah Jones.

The opposing team is made up of players who lined up alongside Chris during his spells at clubs other than Southend. The team will be managed by Chris’ brother Richie and includes Chris’ nephew Charlie. Several other members of Chris’ family will also be at the game

REFEREE: Blues' player of the decade Ryan Leonard will be referee for the game! Gary Telling and Warren Northcott are assistant referees while Connor Cornell will be fourth official.

MASCOT: Maximus Maddocks will be mascot for the game. Maximus was also mascot for Blues at Wembley in 2013 when Chris Barker captained the side for the JPT Trophy final

AUCTION: Several items will be auctioned off online to raise money for ‘A Game for Barks’. These include signed Arsenal and Newcastle United shirts and autographed Jude Bellingham boots.

SHIRTS: Both teams will be wearing shirts designed especially for this game, featuring the SECE Mind Logo. All shirts will be signed and auctioned off online after the game. Players will be unable to give their shirts away after the game.

POLITE NOTICE: Everybody helping out at the game is doing so as a volunteer.

MEDICAL ASSISTANCE: Paramedic medical cover has been provided free of charge by the East of England Ambulance service and staffed by volunteers who have given up their time to support the cause.
