SOUTHEND United have confirmed six of their pre-season friendlies which will be played next month.

Blues will kick off with a trip to Jack Wood's former club Kings Langley before heading to Canvey Island three days later.

The Shrimpers travel to Kettering Town, Callum Powell's ex club, on Saturday July 16 before travelling to Colchester United for an Essex derby three days later.

League Two side Gillingham, who are managed by former Blues striker Neil Harris, visit Roots Hall on Saturday July 23 before Southend head to Concord Rangers seven days later.

The National League season will kick off on Saturday August 6.
