TENNIS star Ryan Peniston is into the last eight of the Nottingham Open.

Peniston, who beat number two seed Jiri Vesely in the first round, saw off Croatian Borna Gojo in straight sets yesterday.

And the Great Wakering based Peniston remains delighted with his form as he continues his quest to be given a wildcard for Wimbledon.

“I’m playing really well and I’m feeling comfortable on the grass,” said Peniston.

“I’m loving playing back home in England and Im happy to have got over the line again.

“He’s (Gojo) a great player so it feels pretty good to win and thank you to everyone who came out and watched.

“I managed to play some good stuff so I’m pleased.”

Peniston has yet to learn who his opponent will be in the last eight.
