WELL-RENOWNED tennis commentator John Lloyd returned to his roots to promote his new autobiography.

Lloyd - who covered Wimbledon again for the BBC this summer - was back at Westcliff Hard Tennis to meet with members.

And the club were delighted to welcome Lloyd back.

A spokesman said: “It was a delight to see John back at his roots as his entire family have grown up in the club.

“John talked entertainingly for a long time with many interesting stories and the odd name drop including John McEnroe, Jimmy Connors and Sue Barker!

“He was amusing and interesting and kindly signed copies of his book for club members.”

Lloyd - who twice won the mixed doubles at Wimbledon during his own playing career - now lives in Palm Beach, Florida.
