SOUTHEND United boss Kevin Maher wants to add more than one striker to his Shrimpers squad.

Last season’s top scorer Sam Dalby is close to completing a switch to Wrexham with Jake Hyde expected to move in the opposite direction.

But Maher is keen to bring in even more firepower.

He said: "Fingers crossed one will get over the line but we’re still looking elsewhere too."

Blues completed the signing of striker Chris Wreh last week and also have Callum Powell available in attack.

However, Rhys Murphy (knee) and Harry Cardwell (ankle) are both still sidelined.

Echosport understands Blues are exploring a number of options to bolster their strikeforce, including making their first loan signing of the summer.
