SOUTHEND United new boy Jake Hyde saw his Shrimpers debut cut short by a hamstring injury.
Hyde pulled up early on before being replaced by Chris Wreh in the 12th minute of the match at Roots Hall.

“It’s a hamstring injury but I won’t know how serious it is until it gets checked out,” said Maher.
“The injury leaves us short but we were short in that area anyway.
“Chris (Wreh) is taking two levels up so we know that will take time but I thought Powelly (Callum Powell) did ever so well when he came on.”
