GOALKEEPING coach Reece Ottley is leaving Southend United to take up a role in Arsenal's academy.

Confirming his departure on Instragram on Sunday, Ottley wrote: “Yesterday was my last day before I move onto an exciting new opportunity.

"I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the 10 years I’ve been at the club working my way up from part time in the academy to first team GK coach.

“I’ve been fortunate enough to work with some fantastic goalkeepers and coaches during my time at the club all that have helped me on my coaching journey.

“I wish all staff and players the best of luck for the season. Southend will certainly be the first result I check for every match day.”
