HARRY Taylor missed Southend United’s 1-1 draw at Solihull Moors due to a knee injury.

The summer signing started the opening game of the season against Boreham Wood on the right hand side.

But Blues boss Kevin Maher was unable to select Taylor against Solihull on Saturday.

“Harry had a clash with the Boreham Wood keeper at the end of the game,” explained Maher.

“We think it’s a medial ligament injury but we’re waiting to find out.”

However, Taylor was not the Shrimpers’ only injury concern against Solihull as Dan Mooney was not fit enough to start.

“Dan had bone bruising on his left foot,” said Maher.

“It’s the bit he uses all the time and I just didn’t want to start anyone who we would lose in the game.

“We thought he would be alright to be on the bench and bring on when spaces opened up.”

Strikers Rhys Murphy, Harry Cardwell and Jake Hyde are all still sidelined along with right-back Gus Scott-Morriss.

And it is unlikely Maher will have any of them back in time for Tuesday’s trip to Halifax Town.

“There’s still a couple of the longer ones like Murphy and Cardwell (that won’t be available),” said Maher.

“We’re waiting to see on Hyde to try and get a scan done for him and Harry Taylor.

“Probably not before Tuesday, but we’ll see.”
