ECHOSPORT talks to Halifax Town fan Luke Walsh, from the National League Podcast, ahead of tonight's match with Southend United.

What are the hopes for Halifax this season?

"Not just for me personally but I feel the majority of the fans are wanting us to secure a play-off spot as a minimum by the end of the season, purely based off the calibre of players we have brought in during the summer."

Has the team changed much since the end of last season?

"The club has had a significant rebuild during the summer with a huge transition expected after the previous campaign.

"We've a number of out goings and inew signings during the transfer window.

"This includes 12 new signings in the transfer window.

"Five of those have previously had a spell with newly promoted Stockport.

"We certainly have greater depth this season which also is full of quality with players like Debrah, Slew, Warburton still here with the squad along with experienced players like Minihan, Keane, Clarke."

Halifax have been beaten in the first two games. What have you made of the performances?

"Although Halifax haven’t had the perfect start under the new Millington era I'm not overly concerned.

"As a fan who travelled down to Barnet it was disappointing to see such a disappointing performance.

"From my perspective it felt like we lacked chemistry and a identity which proved to be our downfall on the day.

"A notable improvement was needed heading into the Torquay game which was displayed on the pitch.

"Although we lost the game we created a number of chances and dominated the game.

"Unlike our game against Barnet the team played together and didn’t lack chemistry which shows promise heading into Tuesday's fixture.

"One concern is scoring goals. We had a total of 26 shots against Torquay compared to Torquay’s total of three!

"I am hoping we will of addressed this issue on the forward front ahead of our game against the Shrimpers."

Who would you say is the dangerman?

"For me personally the dangerman for the Shaymen is Manni Dieseruvwe.

"Although Manni hasnt scored for the Shaymen he has created chances out of nothing and been the centre piece of the way we want to play.

"For me it's only a matter of time before Manni strikes the ball into the net which should concern Shrimpers fans."

What's the team news?

"Fortunately for Southend, Matty Warburton is unlikely to feature in Tuesday's game due to injury.

"Kian Spence is another player yet to feature in a league match due to injury."
