BILLERICAY Town slumped to the bottom of the Isthmian Premier League standings after losing 2-0 at Brightlingsea Regent.
Town had been hoping to get back on track against their fellow strugglers but crashed to a fourth successive defeat to sit at the foot of the table with just three points from five games.
Elsewhere, Canvey Island drew 1-1 at Bowers & Pitsea and sit in eighth place.
In National League South, Concord Rangers lost 1-0 at Chelmsford City with Charlie Ruff scoring the only goal of the game after just 10 minutes.
Concord are now 16th in the table.
In Isthmian North, Hashtag United - who have signed former Southend United utility player Greg Halford - moved up to 10th in the table after winning 3-1 at Brentwood.
Basildon United beat Hullbridge Sports 1-0 while East Thurrock United were beaten 2-1 at home by Tilbury.
There was also disappointment for Great Wakering Rovers as they lost 2-1 against New Salamis at Burroughs Park.
