SOUTHEND United boss Kevin Maher was pleased with the impact Marcus Dackers made on his debut.
Dackers hit the back of the net in the second half against Chesterfield having earlier helped to create Callum Powell’s equalising effort.
And Maher was happy with how the on loan Salford City striker performed.
“He did ever so well,” said Maher.
“He was a great focal point to play over.
“We felt like they would press us and come after us.
“To be able to play into him was good.
“He’s good in the air but he’s good with his feet too.
“He took his goal well too.”
