SOME of the team from Essex Boatyard took a day off from selling boats and enjoyed a good days fishing aboard charter vessel Predator out of Essex Marina at Wallasea.
The main species of the day was skate being taken on fresh herring, with codling and whiting making up good numbers on squid and lug.
The Wallasea Charter Boat Open is being arranged for Sunday, May 25, with seven charters boats taking part. The cost to enter is £55 per head, bait will be supplied and is squid only.
There will be cash prizes for the top three heaviest species.
