GREAT Leigh's race course will hold its first event on Sunday - but it will be an invitation-only event.
The course to the north of Chelmsford is due to open to the public on Wednesday, May 28.
But it is holding six meetings on the all-weather track in the run up to the official opening that will be open to invited guests only.
Sunday's event will see the first race taking place at 2.10pm and the last one three hours later at the 8.5 furlong course.
