MARCUS Dackers ended Southend United’s penalty woes to fire the Shrimpers to victory at Wealdstone.

Blues had missed four of their last five spot-kicks before Dackers’ match winning effort on Saturday.

But head coach Kevin Maher knew Dackers had a good record from the spot when signing him on loan from Salford City.

“He's taken them before when he’s been out on loan and we knew that,” said Maher.

“Maybe he hasn’t got the scars of people missing them either because he hasn’t been here for that long.

“But he does so well for the team and I’m delighted he’s taken it so well.”
