ROCHFORD Hundred head coach Danny Cleare felt his side did not get what they deserved against Worthing.

Hundred were beaten 33-28 at Magnolia Road having been 21-7 in front at half-time.

But Cleare was still pleased with most aspects of the performance.

“Saturday was a really good effort and we didn’t get what we deserved in all honesty,” said Cleare.

“Some of our defensive work was brilliant and it’s another game where we have scored four tries.

“The only disappointing aspect of the game was our exits and our kick chase.

“We conceded soft scores from inviting pressure on ourselves after we had done the hard work.”

And Cleare was also disappointed with some of the decisions which went against his players.

“We were also on the wrong end of some big decisions,” said Cleare.

“The officials should have sent their player off in the first two minutes of the game for a nasty tip tackle and playing 78 minutes with an extra player would have obviously benefitted us.

“That being said we still did more than enough to win the match and put ourselves in a great position at half -time deservedly winning 21-7.

“To not get the job done from that position was obviously frustrating.

“But we’re a team in transition and we’re definitely moving in the right direction and picking up valuable points each game,.

“It says a lot when we are disappointed to not beat a team like Worthing and not being satisfied with two bonus points.”

Kyle Johnson scored two tries for Rochford in the defeat while Jake Spivey and Chris Shields also touched down.

Rochford: Spivey, Ikhifa, Johnson, Dudman, Owens, Henwood, Richmond, Moran, Gray, Mundicha, Newberry, Shields, Strachan, Rufai, Nabogi. Replacements: Brunger, Gardner, Bradley, Mokuolu & Lockwood.
