ECHOSPORT talks to Yeovil Town fan Ben Barrett, from the Gloverscast podcast, ahead of Saturday's match with Southend United.
Yeovil are currently 19th in the table. What have you made of the start to the season?
"It's been a real mixed bag.
"We've played some brilliant football and we've played some torrid football.
"We've got draws out of games we might not have deserved and probably deserved more than just a point against Wrexham and Chesterfield.
We haven't scored enough, if I'm being honest and conceded sloppy goals at sloppy times.
"That's rarely a good combo. The word of the season so far has been frustrating.
"That's the tactics, the performances, the results the atmosphere all feel like we're not a million miles away from going on a run and giving a few sides a hiding. Yet at the same time, it feels like we couldn't be further away from that."
What had been the expectations for Yeovil this season and what do you feel can still be achieved?
"I think Yeovil, a lot like Southend, fall into a category of sides who know they aren't likely to be challenging for the title, but know that with a bit of luck, a bit of a run, the play-offs were a genuine target.
"The problem at this level is, that category of teams is maybe as many as 14 or 15 sides.
"The talk has been to put a competitive side together with a goal of getting out of this league.
"Right now, that's a long way off, but with 75 per cent of the season still to go, you can't rule anything (good or bad) out for the outcome of the season."
Would it be fair to say goalscoring has been one of the major problems this season and can you see that changing any time soon?
"It absolutely would be fair to say.
"We've played Barnet, Wrexham and Chesterfield off the park at home this season, and got two draws to speak for it.
"We even started using the term HargBall (a phrase we've since dropped), quick wingbacks getting forward attacking from both sides, new attacking options which represent huge upgrades from last season, but we can't score enough goals. It's a conundrum that needs solving."
Who would you say is the dangerman?
"I think we've got a really good player in from Bristol City called Sam Pearson.
"I love his style, he's short, stocky, strong, but he can still move and be athletic.
"What I like about him more than anything is he very rarely thinks backwards. He gets the ball and gets going up the pitch.
"He'll create plenty of openings, it's whether or not we can take them."
What’s the team news?
"Owen Bevan, our loanee from Bournemouth is back from International duty with Wales under 21s and should well slot back into the defence.
"There's a question mark on the right hand side.
"Charlie Wakefield isn't a natural wing back, neither is Morgan Williams and if Chiori Johnson isn't fit after missing out last week, one of those will have to step in.
"The only longer term absentee is Walsall loanee Sam Perry who has missed out for the last couple of week having failed to get over a concussion he suffered in a defeat to York."
