SOUTHEND United striker Rhys Murphy suffered another injury setback during tonight’s 3-0 win at Barnet.

Murphy had been out for nine months with a knee injury before forcing his way back onto the bench for the last four games.

And Blues boss Kevin Maher was gutted to see the 31-year-old having to be helped off the pitch by physiotherapist John Gowens shortly after entering the action at the Hive.

“It doesn’t look great because it’s the way he’s landed and rolled his ankle I believe,” said Maher.

“I’m so disappointed for him because he’s worked ever so hard to get back to fitness but fingers crossed it’s not as bad as we fear.”

Murphy, who replaced Chris Wreh in the 84th minute, left the stadium on crutches and also had his left foot in a protective boot.
