GATESHEAD boss Mike Williamson thought his side’s resilience and determination proved key in their win against Southend United.
The 3-1 victory saw Gateshead work their way off the foot of the National League table.

“We’re in a difficult position and results are what it’s all about," Williamson told the club's Twitter account.
"I felt like our quality wasn’t as good as we hoped for but the actual performance, the battling and the desire, the picking up second balls was good.
"It was that resilience and determination that got us the win today.
"We were determined to be solid and we know when we give ourselves that base that we’ve got players who can score goals and hurt teams."
